What can Botox and dermal fillers do for me?

As you age, your body slows down the production of collagen and elastin, two important components of healthy, youthful-looking skin. As a result, your skin begins to sag, and you develop wrinkles, facial folds, and frown lines. When these common skin imperfections start affecting your confidence and leave you unhappy with your overall appearance, Botox and dermal fillers can help reduce the severity of wrinkles and folds and to restore lost volume.

What's the difference between Botox and dermal fillers?

Botox is a safe and effective injectable treatment that can improve the look of severe forehead lines and crow's feet. The prescription medicine in the Botox injection temporarily paralyzes the muscles responsible for causing frown lines and deep wrinkles. Following the injection, these muscles begin to relax, reducing wrinkle severity and taking years off the appearance of your skin. These injections give you long-lasting results. Your provider will recommend a timeline for maintenance treatments to help you maintain your younger looking skin.

Dermal fillers are injectable treatments that can add volume to your lips and face, reducing the appearance of wrinkles and folds. Fillers differ based on the areas you're treating and how long the results can last. Elk Grove Dermatology offers several dermal filler options depending on your specific needs:

Thin Fillers
Thin fillers contain hyaluronic acid and are ideal for plumping lips, reducing the appearance of under-eye bags, and enhancing your cheek contour. We offer Restylane and JUVÉDERM® products to achieve natural-looking results that can last up to six months.

Which filler is right for me?

Our providers will help determine the best course of treatment based on your cosmetic goals. A custom treatment plan will be created to ensure you achieve a natural look.

If you're worried about how your skin is aging or want to enhance your natural facial contours, schedule an appointment at Elk Grove Dermatology online or over the phone.
